The Anthropology of the Contemporary
Fall 2012

This invited lecture series examined the radical transformations in the world around us. From new legal bodies, reconfigured medical developments, new ways of conceptualizing the human person and various extra-state projects (sex categories, international organizations, music brokers, migration policies and their stories, NGOs, international tribunals, and new economic arrangements), the goal was for speakers to reflect on the specificities of their own work in relation to larger processes in the contemporary world.
